Hello everyone, we experienced a circuit breaker issue recently that impacted my old gaming PC. It will start up occasionally but sometimes shows a boot failure warning in Windows. The recovery options on the blue screen don’t resolve anything. At other times, after BIOS access disappeared, I encountered a spinning wheel of doom during startup. The BIOS registers all my drives, from NVMe to standard ones. I attempted a recovery USB, but using it with the SSD from another working PC resulted in a dark blue screen showing only the mouse cursor. After installing a functional SSD from another system, the computer briefly recovered and booted normally. I’m unsure what’s causing the problem, especially since the PC is quite old, so I opted to replace the motherboard and CPU to investigate further. The current setup includes an ASUS ROG Strix Z270E board with an Intel Core i5-7600K, Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM, 4x 8GB sticks, a 1TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe drive, GTX960 GPU, and a Corsair RMX 750X PSU. For the swap, I replaced the CPU with an AMD 5600X and the motherboard with an ASUS TUF Gamin X570 Plus Gaming model (parents covered the cost of those upgrades). I’m hoping the issue lies in the motherboard or CPU rather than memory or other components. Any suggestions for troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated.
It seems the GPU isn't the problem because your screen is working. Make sure you connected the monitor to the GPU, not the motherboard.
It's the sole positive aspect I have that means I won't need to swap it out. GPU costs might drop, but I'm not ready to replace it just yet.

Installed the latest motherboard and CPU. System is running on Windows but crashes with BSOD upon login. Running safely now, backing up important files from the C drive, and preparing a clean installation of Windows 10.
