It's frustrating with the RT Ax88U, but switching to the U6 Lite or even a wall-mounted U6 could help.
I experiment with various hard drives, and once the router nearly failed, it required rescue mode. I won’t use that again.
The mounting options feature rubber feet designed specifically for wall mounting. Beyond that, selecting the appropriate screw size and drilling two holes at the correct spacing in the wall becomes necessary. Is this phrasing clear? We initially discussed wall mounting, then shifted to hard drives, and now we're considering mesh Wi-Fi—this device doesn’t seem well-suited for it. Do you have a question, or are you just expressing frustration?

Most APs I observed had mounts on ceilings, such as Aruba and Unifi, while only about 10 percent were installed on walls.
