Hi, I just purchased an Xbox One controller for my gaming PC. After installing the drivers, the x86 version caused an error. I managed to install the x64 drivers, but the controller still doesn’t work. Pressing the Xbox icon lights up, indicating the batteries are fine. It’s connected via mini USB, and I’ve tested USB 3.0 and 2.0, but nothing works. What’s going on?

Isn't the Xbox One controller around sixty dollars? It seems a bit excessive in my view.

It doesn’t work unless you’re already inside the game.

Not helpful what so ever .... When you get into a game it should work. It wont work on the desktop like a mouse. Good luck man!

The 360 controller works seamlessly with Windows without needing drivers. Simply remove any previous installations, restart your device, and reinsert the controller. It will handle unpacking the required files automatically.

The main issue would be Microsoft's driver software. You can check if it functions with that.

I understand it doesn’t function like a mouse. Even after entering the game, it still doesn’t work. I’ve tested it on my second gaming PC (Windows 7 64-bit) using x86 drivers, but they failed again, so I switched to x64 drivers which installed successfully. Still, it doesn’t work. I’ve checked the manage device menu and couldn’t locate an Xbox One controller entry.

You're wondering if the Xbox One controller works with Windows 7. Someone shared a link suggesting drivers are now available.
