Usually, when I attempt to start Windows, once it disappears from the login screen my whole desktop returns to its original state.

Have you considered performing a clean Windows installation? If so, it's wise to back up your data to an external drive.

It seems your processor might be a bit outdated for running Windows 11, so you're probably better off sticking with an older version like Windows 10.
