I heavily used this laptop for the past year, but after daily use it started acting up—glitching, shutting down, and trying to install Windows 8 when I turned it back on. What’s happening?

There are several options available, though you'd need to reinstall Windows 7 again. Searching for a downgrade from Windows 8 to Windows 7 might be useful. I can't share this here because I wouldn't want to assume responsibility if something goes wrong. P.S.: Microsoft no longer backs Windows 7 support.
