Someone might have an unofficial copy of Windows, and since you've used the same machine for almost three years, it's possible. You could try purchasing a valid license to get it working properly.

Certainly! You can try upgrading to Windows 10 and check if they provide a valid license.

You can simply purchase a license and then open the control panel to activate it with the provided key. If it's a cracked version, you may need to reinstall for your genuine key to work properly. Ideally, buy a standard retail copy of Windows matching your current installation.

I suggest trying it once more, as it seems the Windows update verification might have been accepted. Make sure you review the updates you're currently using before proceeding.

I had it from a local PC shop. Do you know where to purchase a genuine license? Should I uninstall and reinstall Windows? I also tried upgrading via the rollout program they offered, but I can’t recall the exact name. During installation, an error appeared, but I don’t remember what it said.

And this implies you'll require an updated version no matter what you do, so enjoy the process of reinstalling

It seems you're suggesting purchasing a product key and then proceeding based on the cracking method used.
