I've got a new laptop with an Asus Prime Z690-P Wi-Fi, which is the motherboard and I've installed W10 Pro. When I tried to activate Windows, it refused. My previous PC used a local account, but since I already had a Microsoft account linked to it, there shouldn't have been issues. I booted the new PC using the SDD with the software from my old PC, and after some troubleshooting, the Troubleshooting option helped. Windows recognized my old PC and allowed me to activate W10 Pro on the new one with the Asus Prime. The site indicated both PCs shared the same ID, but I'm not sure if that's an error. However, the Asus Prime started acting up, so I swapped it for a different model (Asus ROG Strix Z690-A Gaming Wi-Fi d4). Now it seems I can't reactivate Windows—it displays both my old PC and the new one with the Asus Prime, but they don<|pad|>, and it says the Asus Prime isn't linked. I think my old PC uses "Windows Professional" instead of W10 Pro, which is confusing since all of them run Windows 10 Pro. I think it would be better to seek advice before making any changes that might cause more problems.

P.S. Sorry for the awkward English, it's not my first language.

Windows activation relies on your motherboard's hardware ID. This ID is set by your motherboard. If you replaced it, you'll need to buy a new Windows version. Remember, Windows is free unless you want customization and want to remove the desktop watermark.

It's not accurate to say that. If you link the key to a Microsoft account, you can move it to another device. I did this with my license when changing computers—no need for a new license, just detach it from the old one and assign it to the new machine.

Contact Microsoft regarding your motherboard update. They will provide a fresh activation key. Ensure you use the same email address as before.

I've consistently used local accounts and purchased OEM keys. I don't know if this would work for you, but my only advice is to visit the activation page in your settings. If you encounter an error code, depending on its nature, it might be possible to contact Microsoft support for assistance. On my end, I usually search for "slui 04" in the Windows Start menu, which prompts a country selection and provides a number to call for help activating Windows 10. This method isn't always dependable, as it varies with the error code you have. If they redirect you to a real person, I recommend hanging up and trying again with different choices during the call. You might even reach out to someone directly, though in my experience that took about 30 minutes and the issue remained unresolved. They attempted to remotely access my PC to fix it, but they were unable to do so.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I'll try them out and share the updated version once I fix it, hoping it can assist others later.

Well, unbind the old PC didn't work, slui 4 didn't work either and the only phone number to talk to Microsoft that I have found for Spain was useless because the bot who answered sent me to the normal Microsoft web for solving problem, which didn't help. But the weird stuff keep happening, now it recognize my new motherboard, but still don't allow me to activate Windows because one have W10 Pro a the other Windows Professional, here`s a picture:
