Hello, I encountered an issue while setting up Windows 10 on my new computer. After reaching the "install now" screen, I noticed a warning about a missing media driver. I attempted various fixes—changing USB ports, adjusting BIOS settings, and installing Intel Rapid Storage drivers—but nothing resolved the problem. I even downloaded from a Mac to see if it would help, but it didn’t work across different Mac models. Now I’m unsure whether to look for a Windows PC for a download or purchase the USB directly from Microsoft. Please advise.

Hello! It seems you're looking to set up Windows 10 on older devices. You'll need the appropriate drivers for your hard drives. Could you share the system specifications?

After clicking Ok, do your hard drives remain visible or are they missing? If the HDDs aren’t present, verify that your BIOS SATA mode is configured to AHCI or IDE. Many makers, particularly on pre-built units, often set it to RAID, which can lead to installation problems due to missing compatible drivers in the Windows ISO. You might need to search for the correct SATA/RAID drivers for your chipset and install them manually. If you already have AHCI/IDE set but still can’t locate the HDD, you may require additional drivers. Also, consider whether you’re installing Windows on a Mac or another PC. If you’re using a Mac, Microsoft likely provided the ISO directly through their website rather than requiring a separate installer. If not, you could try using an Android/iPhone tablet or a Chrome extension such as Mobile Browser Emulator—open it from the icon, navigate to the Windows 10 download page, and download the ISO yourself. Then transfer it to a USB drive using software like Rufus. Note that this method isn’t available on Mac.

Thanks! I'm applying what you advised now. The file was transferred from a Mac to my PC using the z390 chipset with an ISO. Let me know if it works!
