I just received a new budget notebook (JOI Book 150) at a great price. I quickly ruled out Windows 10 for it and chose Elementary OS 5.0 Juno after weighing several options. Everything seems to be working smoothly except for my WiFi connection. As a total newcomer to Linux, I’m open to your guidance step by step. I attempted to check network details using the terminal command `sudo lshw -C network`, and everything appeared fine—both my wireless network and Ethernet were listed. My Ethernet is connected via a USB dongle since the notebook lacks a built-in port. I’ve learned from research that the drivers installed are generic for my WiFi card, which is often unreliable. Usually it shows weak signal strength even when close to the router, and connecting with the right password fails. It worked once after a restart but disappeared the next time I powered it on. Any advice on fixing the WiFi issues or installing better drivers would be invaluable. Thanks a lot! P.S. The screenshot from that command line is attached if it helps.

Yes, you can run 'lsusb' in the terminal to identify the exact model. If it isn't shown, use 'lspci' instead.

Thanks for the prompt response. Running lsusb in the terminal appears to reveal information about my WiFi card. It doesn’t clearly point to a specific model, but the highlighted option shows up as Bluetooth, which is functioning properly.

Elementary might not have a built-in driver manager, but a Realtek device should be compatible right from the start.

The Wi-Fi device is linked by connecting it to a router or access point and ensuring it is powered on and properly configured.

From what I understand, Elementary OS doesn't have a driver manager. That's consistent with the support I saw in Ubuntu 18.04, which uses Elementary OS 5.0 Juno. Still, I need some assistance right now.

Currently I’m connected via an external USB to Ethernet adapter and sending data back to my router. That’s the setup I’m using right now. If you meant something else by WiFi, let me know. I’m not using it at the moment and would appreciate your assistance.

Apologies for the delayed response; it was a sleep period in my time zone. @will4623 It's an internal Wi-Fi adapter I'm attempting to activate. @Chunchunmaru The updates were made for both AppCenter and terminal, but nothing is functioning yet.
