It seems one of the ports could be functional. With only a single USB3.0 port and no media bay (like an SD card slot), the second port is likely not working. If VBUS is compromised, you should be fine because it’s just the power connector, which will trigger the error message when used incorrectly. If there’s a media bay, it’s typically located on the second port’s pins.
