Issue with the second monitor during gameplay.
Hey, while I'm attempting a relaxed game on my second monitor, the video keeps freezing and lagging. I think my PC should manage it, but it doesn’t. I’ve reduced the video quality, switched browsers to Edge and Opera GX instead of Chrome, lowered game settings, and turned on Vsync, yet the issue persists. Is there a power-related setting affecting performance? My hardware: CPU AMD Ryzen 5 5600X (6x 3.7GHz, 32MB L3), motherboard MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus, GPU NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 8GB, RAM Palit Dual LHR (32GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3000), and OS Windows 11 Pro version 22H2. I’m mainly using Chrome. Appreciate your help.
Hello! Welcome to the forums. Have you experimented with adjusting the drivers? Look for a newer version, both for Nvidia and Windows. What interface are you using? Are you certain both devices are connected to the GPU? Please let me know.
Operate in DDU safe mode. (Hide Windows driver install settings within the menu options) Verify both functions. Once in safe mode, execute clean and shutdown for GPU installation: https://www.wagnardsoft.com/content/Disp...1-Released
It seems there might be a problem with Windows currently. You're experiencing inconsistent behavior with your new 7900XT when using your TV as an additional monitor—sometimes it functions properly, but other times the drivers fail to respond.
I signed up to create this. While upgrading my graphics card, I didn’t bother with DDU and just installed Nvidia cleanly. My second monitor kept lagging when the GPU reached full load, which I thought was normal since everything else worked fine and I couldn’t locate a reliable solution online. Now I’ve tried DDU again and it fixed the issue. Being lazy often causes trouble.
