I have an Alienware 17 R5 and a Sony Bravia KDL-42W800B TV. Both screens are 1080p at 60Hz. I’m linking the laptop to the TV via HDMI cable. I’ve been using the TV for 11 years. When I start a game in exclusive full screen, I notice screen tearing only on the TV when the camera moves sideways. In windowed or borderless full screen, it doesn’t happen. This pattern has appeared in other games over the years, especially in exclusive full screen. I’ve switched to borderless full screen for smoother gameplay. Could this issue be caused by either the laptop or the TV?

The laptop and TVs only show the given image. It functions at both 30 and 24Hz.

You're asking for clarification. The laptop screen being 60Hz means it refreshes at 60 times per second.
