Hey everyone, the issue with Port 8 on your RT-AC88U isn't uncommon. It seems like the port isn't establishing a connection, which could be due to network configuration or driver problems. The message you're seeing—kernel: portsLinkStaus=f—indicates a link stack issue, not a typical status. This often points to driver updates or conflicts. Try updating your network adapter drivers, or check if another device on the same network is using Port 8. If the problem persists, consider restarting the router or consulting the manufacturer's support for further guidance.

It's a recognized problem. Going back to previous BIOS versions should resolve it.

Review the firmware release. Obtain the updated version from the Asus website. Choose manual upload instead of automatic verification.

I haven't attempted it yet since I'm currently working, but I'll try the solution once I can. Thank you for your help!

The issue in the latest firmware comes from extra logging, not from ports failing. If your port isn’t working, perform a full power reset: disconnect the power for about five seconds while the power button remains on, then reconnect it.
