Issue with the Ram card reader
Issue with the Ram card reader
I faced a similar issue earlier and managed to resolve it. One of the middle RAM slots wasn't functioning. All the RAM modules were fine, but inserting the middle one caused the PC to restart twice before booting up again. Removing it worked, and using two other sticks also allowed normal startup. This occurred today when I accidentally bumped my computer—though not hard. It happened before, and I handled it successfully. I also tried resetting the BIOS/CCM.
Reset the CMOS. Test one stick at a time in each slot. What are the specifications? Can it use dual channel? Updated July 30, 2020 by TofuHaroto
I already tried all the RAM stick options, placed one in the first slot and another in the third, and they functioned properly with an 8GB setup. I checked every stick on the first and third slots—they all worked (I own three 4GB sticks). The second slot only worked occasionally, and the RAM inside it would get hot as if it were active. I restarted twice after putting all three in and booting, but removing the RAM from the second slot fixed the issue. My system uses an Intel I7 950 RX 560 with 4GB, 600W power supply, and a motherboard from Asus (model from 2010, 12GB RAM).
I executed the steps as requested. Ran dual channel, verified slots 2 and 4, and inspected the second dimmer on the board for any bent pins.
Last month power was interrupted and my computer froze. The dimming controls aren't responding.
I clarified the issue by applying a dual channel method. I verified slots 2 and 4, repositioned the CPU, and reset the CMOS again. Additionally, I examined the socket for any bent pins.
