I've attempted to charge the PS5 controller on my PC with the included cable multiple times, but it consistently fails—just keeps flashing orange without charging. I've also tried various cables. What could be causing this issue?

The problem is most likely that you computer cannot charge devices fast. When your phone charges is will most likely give you a slow charging error. The PS5 controller may not be able to receive enough power to meet a voltage threshold that it requires for charging (This is just me theorizing). It would surprise me that your laptop cannot provide 5v 2a power for the controller, unless there is a problem with your laptop. You can try looking up "[your_laptop] usb charging is slow" to see if it is a common problem or if your laptop just doesn't have good usb charging. @BoomerDutch Is most likely correct in saying that the controller is charging, just slowly.
