Really struggling to figure this out, putting a fresh RAM into a case but the power stays off while an old one works just fine.

Verify your pin labels and consult the motherboard manual available on the website. It’s possible your reset pins are misplaced. Otherwise, it seems like a typical RMA case for your motherboard.
