Updated my PSU and GPU in the PC. Despite this, heavy games cause sudden reboots during game menus. Current specs include a 1000W PSU, i9 10900KF, 4x8GB RAM at 3600MHz, and RX 6950 XT. Previously used a Nvidia GPU without problems. Drivers and BIOS are fresh, Windows reinstalled, RAM removed attempts made, AMD software reinstalled, temperatures normal. Still experiencing crashes or reboots when launching games. Believe it’s the GPU issue. Looking for advice to fix this.

The same applies to XMP off. For the 6950XT you're using two cables.

I face a comparable issue after adding a new PSU (750W Corsair upgraded to 1000W gold EVGA). Games frequently crash and the OS becomes unstable at times. I've reinstalled games and drivers several times over the past couple of months without success. My setup includes a Ryzen 5 5600G, a Power color RD RX 6900XT, 16GB Corsair 3200MHz RAM, and a 1TB Samsung 980 SSD. Windows 10 with XMP enabled is running. The problem continues.

This might be the issue. I assume the system didn’t fail before the PSU upgrade.

Prior to upgrading the PSU, it would frequently crash after multiple matches. Now, attempting to join games like MWII, Apex Legends, or opening titles such as Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Fortnite, and RDR2 often results in crashes. After resetting the BIOS, clearing system debris, and restoring default settings (believing it was graphical issues), the problems continue except for The Witcher 3.

It appears the crash happens during game loading. Do you have antivirus installed? It can sometimes cause issues. Could there be another factor at play? Have you considered using a different graphics driver?

I attempted to turn off the built-in Windows security. I've tested various drivers, some only function with specific games. AMD appears to be having inconsistent performance with their newest drivers. The latest version (Adrenaline 23.4.2) was installed recently. Edited April 23, 2023 by xMikk

I just tried with XMP off and still get the same problem. There is one cable going to my GPU. (Cable goes from 8-pin in PSU to 2x 8-pin in GPU)

You're experiencing the same issue again. I'll adjust some settings in your PSU software to check if it makes a difference.

I resolved the issue by connecting the Corsair ICUE cable to my PSU and turning off the dual rail setting. Now it operates on a single rail, and my PC runs smoothly without crashes or reboots. But the game performance still stutters a lot. Anyone has any idea what might be causing this?
