Issue with the new device not starting up.
I've replaced the RAM, power supply, and upgraded the Gigabyte X99 UD3 to the X99 UD4. I've also checked the pins, thinking bent ones were causing issues. The computer powers on briefly and then shuts off repeatedly. I haven't been able to get the BIOS to work properly, even after flashing the mobile. The Bios LED stays lit when it shouldn't. I'm planning to replace the CPU soon, but I want to make sure I've checked everything first before spending more. Thanks!
You seemed frustrated about the situation. X99 as a platform isn’t very useful, and it would have been better to upgrade to something newer like the 12100 with a decent b660 motherboard. It only improves performance and doesn’t solve the core problems with an outdated setup.
Tested both standard thermal units—850W gold and a brand new 750W model. Neither performed well. I think ordering another CPU is the best option now, especially since I received a refund on the first one. I'm currently running a 980Ti, and it's working fine with or without the GPU installed. The 5820k is priced around $25 and the motherboard about $100, making it a more affordable choice at $125 versus roughly $200. On eBay, the 125 bucks option seems like a better value compared to the performance. I also had a bent-pin board in storage, but after replacing it, everything was fine. It's still cheaper than that alternative.
It seems like a CPU problem might be the cause. I fixed bent pins on an LGA1150 socket earlier, so the motherboard should work again. It wasn’t too difficult unless the pins were completely broken.
Tested both methods in a real-world scenario and inside an anti-static bag placed on top of a box. Unfortunately, no results. Thanks for the effort!
