Issue with the keyboard on the Gigabyte B560M DS3H.
I recently assembled a new PC for my youngest. The setup included: CPU – Intel Core i3-10105F, motherboard – Gigabyte B560M DS3H, GPU – Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 (4GB), RAM – 16GB Crucial Ballistix 3200MHz, SSD – 256GB Patriot P300 NVMe, and power supply – 400W quiet. I installed everything and gave it a test run. Unfortunately, we didn’t make it past the stage shown in the attached file. It seems the keyboard isn’t responding at all—trying various keys, F11, DEL, etc., had no effect. I checked multiple USB ports (front, back, 3.0, 2.0, and a dedicated mouse/keyboard port), but nothing worked. I also tried three different keyboards, two USB connections, and even a PS2 keyboard for this build. All USB devices functioned correctly elsewhere, yet here it failed completely. No operating system has been installed yet because we couldn’t get anything to work. Any suggestions on where to look or what might be wrong?
Checked the entire motherboard for any obvious issues and confirmed if it was refurbished.
No signs of harm were found. It was purchased in its original condition. However, this was the sole item that came to mind... a faulty motherboard.
I disconnected all components except the GPU, 4 GB RAM and SSD. Removed other connectors like HW LED, front audio, and the second 4 GB RAM. The PS2 keyboard now functions. I'm attempting to install Windows 11 before reassembling, but Windows doesn't recognize the Patriot P300 SSD. I haven't found a driver on the Patriot website yet. I'll check again once everything is working.
