Hello! I'm from Germany and just got my new Asus Strix Z490-E with the Core i7 10700k today. I followed the usual setup process, connected everything and installed Windows without any issues so far. However, when I tried to install the drivers from the DVD that came with it, nothing worked. The Asus installer only handled the chipset drivers, and the rest failed. I downloaded the other drivers on my laptop and tried again—still no luck. I also attempted to install network drivers from Intel's site, but it said "No intel device detected." The device manager didn't find a compatible driver either. I tried the audio driver, but it said "Wrong OS, no driver" except for the chipset one. I haven't faced such problems before. Any advice or help would be appreciated! Thanks! Good night.

What BIOS version are you using on your motherboard? You might need to adjust it and keep an eye on BIOS and driver updates regularly over the coming weeks or months. The Windows drivers that are recognized and installed automatically could be suitable for now. I noticed BIOS version 0607 was just released on June 3, 2020. Launching a BIOS for the Z490 board is currently problematic. Many manufacturers, including AsRock, MSi, and Gigabyte, were releasing beta BIOS and driver versions daily in an effort to ensure compatibility on release day. The only board that performed reliably for reviewers was the ASUS Maximus XII Extreme, which ran with the i9-10900K and i5-10600K samples. Even Gigabyte had issues with their Z490 Vision G boards, mistyping "SILVER" as "SLIVER."

Thanks for the update! The bios were changed recently. Windows wouldn’t boot initially, but after some testing it started working again. However, drivers aren’t installing properly and there are no system files present. I’m trying to update the Windows version on my bootable USB and will let you know if it succeeds. Thanks again!

Check your Windows updates regularly. The automatic driver installer usually handles internet or audio drivers well. Early adopters of the LGA1200 might end up with basic BIOS settings.

I successfully installed the Wi-Fi drivers and am using the provided Wi-Fi antenna. I’ll rely on Windows updates to resolve issues, hoping it works. Unfortunately, even with internet access, the Device Manager couldn’t locate the correct drivers for the Ethernet controller. I’ll keep an eye on it. Thanks for your assistance!
