I've added Debian but I'm missing sound, likely because the motherboard is new and open-source drivers aren't ready yet. How can I get the drivers I need? I'm just starting with Linux and most of what I found left me confused. I can handle basic commands like sudo apt-get cd dir.

Which motherboard are we discussing? You haven’t provided details. If you’re just starting with Linux, consider installing Ubuntu or a similar distribution—they’re simpler to manage and generally function well out-of-the-box.

asus z170 pro gaming is a Linux setup I’m familiar with. I can manage a Linux machine from the command line, but I’m still unsure about advanced resources and complex tasks. The best way to learn seems to be exploring more advanced distributions like Debian.

I didn't locate any integrated soundcards; ASLA appears to focus only on dedicated options. Review Debian's Wiki for guidance. For driver troubles with OOTB, Ubuntu remains a solid choice due to its newer kernel and simpler driver setup.

The wiki entry really provides useful information. I looked through it before, but filtering out unrelated details was tricky since I’m still learning about drivers and Linux.

Downloading drivers is almost unheard of in Linux. They're usually already part of the kernel.

I understand this before, I've tried other distributions before and they worked. It seems the issue isn't with Debian. I plan to check the wiki article today.
