Issue with the CS GO microphone setup.
The mic in the Steam mic test functions properly, but in a private lobby it works when you click the microphone icon. However, once you enter a game it stops working. It seems people using Macs experience this issue, and it’s likely not on a Mac. This problem also occurred in Rust before I resolved it and lost track of it.

Check if the voice communication key is set to "V" by default. Navigate to settings/options in CS:GO, then keyboard/controls, and locate "Voice Communications" or a similar option to determine the required key.
