Hey! I’ve owned a PC for three years straight since 2020 and haven’t faced any issues. This year I upgraded my CPU and motherboard, and just bought a 2TB WD Black sn770 SSD. It ran smoothly for a while but now I’m seeing frequent BSODs, mainly clock watchdog errors. I’ve tried overclocking with ASUS, XMP settings, and MSI afterburner, but nothing worked. After a fresh Windows 11 install, the problem persisted. Ran memtestx86 – RAM seems fine. BIOS update didn’t help either. I’m getting really frustrated; I’m starting to panic. Could it be my CPU or something with the new SSD? Any tips would be appreciated! Feel free to ask more questions.
The BSOD points to your CPU and happens during a clock delay or when a thread is stuck in wait mode. Try reseating the CPU and inspect the motherboard connectors for bent pins. If debug lights are on, you might already know what’s wrong. Can the system boot normally before it crashes and displays the error screen?
Consider switching to safemode for troubleshooting. Run the system with only essential USB connections. This might help identify issues like a failing power supply or a loose power cable near the SSD.
The system launches properly but becomes increasingly sluggish, freezing, and eventually triggers the BSOD. A recently installed Intel RST driver appeared functional initially, though its reliability is uncertain. I'll provide regular updates.
