Hi there! I changed the thermal paste for my CPU and accidentally damaged a pin. Looking at the AM4 pinout diagrams, that pin corresponds to the A13 test pin (TEST11). It’s important to know its function so you can avoid any further issues.

I’m not certain about the purpose of that pin or whether public data exists for it. If needed, I can attempt to solder it myself, even if it means replacing the pin later.

It might be incorrect, but I think it's pin A25 (A15*), so channel B memory should work. I’d expect it to function, though you could run into RAM issues, especially with dual-channel setups. If you’re handy, you can swap the pin yourself; otherwise, you might find someone willing to do it for a fair price. Still, I’d go ahead and try it as planned—it could work fine.

it's clearly not an A13/AVR13 model, since even flipping the diagram upside down or reversing it still shows the broken pin is 15 units from the corner—either 15 or 25. I'm not sure what problems might exist with any other pins, honestly. I updated my previous comment to suggest testing the chip directly without changing anything, just to see how it performs. In the worst case, it might not work properly and would only need a pin replacement. So you wouldn't be worse off than before by trying the chip.

It has a corner featuring four spaces above it. One level up from the two vertical gaps on the sides, all the way on the left. I believe it's A15. I think the original poster selected A13 by excluding the two top "blank" pins as separate numbers 1 and 2. I'd test it on the board.

You're right, I was puzzled by the diagram. It looks like it comes from the chip side, not the socket. That makes sense since it's a VSS pin, so it should work fine.

I believe VSS is solid. It seems safe to assume it won’t help with overclocking or boosting voltages if those pins are grounded. The schematic shows the CPU connections reversed compared to the usual view.
