In "memory composition," the initial purple line represents active memory, not cached data. Some process is consuming RAM.

When I check the processes, they indicate less than 2GB of RAM in use. It might be a memory leak or another issue.

Rippy4500 is correct. Navigate to the "Processes" section in your task manager, then select "Memory." This will display the applications consuming the most memory, either in descending or ascending order.

I also received 13GB of cached memory, which comes from using a drive cache utility, right?

The same issue occurs on my work computer—RAM at 10GB while the task manager shows only about 2-3GB being used.

You may want to verify the details using Resource Monitor. In the Performance section, find the monitor at the bottom left of the taskbar and click it. After opening it, navigate to memory to see all running processes and their RAM consumption. The image you shared already indicates 11.9gb is being used. You should identify which applications are responsible.

You don't need to capture a screenshot. Make sure your browsers are ready to start up or set as "Continue where you left off." If everything checks out, the problem might be related to high memory usage. Running multiple tabs with Microsoft 365 apps and Excel can quickly consume a lot of RAM. Adding personal tabs can further increase memory demand, potentially reaching around 11GB. To test this, close your browser and review background applications in the task manager to see if memory usage drops.
