Hello, I just assembled a PC for a friend using these components: Intel Core i5-11400F (CPU), Crucial Ballistix 2x 8 GB DDR4-3200 (RAM), Gigabyte B560M Aorus Elite (mainboard), ASUS DUAL-GTX1660S-O6G-EVO (GPU), Alpenföhn Dolomit advanced (cooler), Alpenföhn Wing Boost 3 ARGB Triple (fans), and Phanteks P300A Mesh (case). I installed Windows 10 Home OEM, downloaded and installed all available drivers—including the ASUS 1660S driver—and ran a Windows update. After that, I installed Steam, ARK Survival Evolved, and other programs. I also adjusted the fan profiles in the BIOS. When playing ARK Survival Evolved, the visuals appeared as shown (a screenshot from the internet).

Spoiler: The issue seems to be with the graphics settings. Here are some suggestions:
1. Experiment with different graphics settings—low, medium, high, or epic—to see if it improves texture clarity.
2. Check the "Resolution Scale" option in the graphics settings; setting it to max often resolves sharpness problems.
3. Try launching the game via Steam in DirectX 10 mode, which can help older GPUs function better.

No lag was observed; the game runs smoothly at 1080p with all components brand new.

Any additional tips? I’m considering searching for alternative drivers (possibly from NVIDIA) or reinstalling the entire game.

Often reminds me of situations where your game runs slower because it’s installed on a traditional hard drive instead of an SSD. Or if your VRAM is insufficient, the game may offload textures to another location, causing delays as the GPU waits for them. It could also point to a bug like loading low-quality models instead of higher fidelity ones or a setting that disrupts quality.

The sole storage solution is an SSD. Despite this, the textures remain unchanged during wait times. It functions properly on my setup with an RTX 2070 at 1440p resolution.
