Hello everyone, welcome! I’m starting fresh today because my PC couldn’t recognize my headset. After rebooting, Windows tried to fix it but failed. I’ve checked many online solutions like the bootfix command, but got an access denied error. The error code is 0xc0000225. I’m stuck—doing a Windows reinstall on a M.2 SSD and removing it from my old 3.5” drive might help. Thanks in advance for your help!

Reinstalling windows often solves issues, but it might point to hardware problems. Before purchasing a new ssd, run memtest for a few hours and connect your windows drive to another sata port. Always back up your hard drive if you have crucial files.

No, it must be Linux. Windows needs to be installed first. Alternatively, you could use Hiren's boot CD, which includes a miniXP setup and various diagnostic tools for checking hardware.

If you're restarting Windows just to fix the headphone issue (not a strong reason), then this might be the best option for you. Other suggestions tend to be more complicated than resolving the headphone detection problem.
