Issue with S431 top mouse buttons malfunctioning.
You recently received a Lenovo ThinkPad S431, but the right-click on the top mouse buttons isn't functioning properly. The bottom-right click seems to work, yet turning the device on in settings has no effect. Applying the latest driver from the Lenovo website doesn't resolve the issue, and using Windows Precision drivers also didn't help. Anyone have suggestions on how to fix this? You've already tried uninstalling drivers and letting Windows reinstall them, which made things worse.
Ensure the laptop is running the most recent BIOS update. Verify the operating system version to confirm it's Windows 10. Retrieve all necessary drivers for the laptop using the serial number on the bottom panel, which will help identify the correct drivers on the support page. Install each driver manually through an elevated command prompt, such as right-clicking the installer and selecting Run as Administrator. If the system appears stable and drivers match the hardware, the problem might lie with the physical button near the keyboard.
I've checked the newest BIOS updates and used the drivers from the site with the model number, but nothing worked. It's odd since I thought it would function before.
It might just be a hardware problem; if it falls under warranty, reach out to Lenovo support.
