Hello everybody, followup on another topic since part of that has been solved. So i bought a Ryzen 7 5800x yesterday and i have been testing it. Found out third party aps do not read clocks correctly. I have this issue. While running cinabench 23 all cores i reach 90 degrees and 4550 Mhz. I assume ( and do tell me if i'm right ) that i'm not getting higher clocks in this synthetic load because by reaching 90 degrees my cpu is stopping the boost, stalling at 4550 Mhz. That's fine because being it a synthetic load i never see those loads in game. Case and point by playing cyerpunk 2077 i am around 75/80 degrees. "Issue" is that in that situation i don't get higher clocks. ( ignore task manager, it also says wonky clocks numbers) As you can see the clocks are at 4400 Mhz. My friends said that it's because the actual performance are being limited by GPU ( 95% usage up on the left ) while CPU is only at 40% usage, as such it's not boosting more because there is no need. Is this correct ? To conclude. If both prior points are correct, How can i check and see if my CPU is capable to reach 4800 mhz ? On cinabench i can't since it reaches 90 degrees, is there a benchmark or something i can check ? or something ? BTW i am totally clueless on how boosting works and all these numbers work, it my premises are just wrong do tell me.

Thermals contribute, yet the Max Turbo features a single core, not every core.

By default, the system automatically adjusts the clock, so no need to worry. It keeps power use efficient while boosting speeds. If you want extra performance, manually adjust the clock. It might also change based on temperature conditions <<<

The thermal readings might be related to a cinematic bench or synthetic load that hits 90 degrees. For the game, the assumption seems valid—temperature around 75°F could increase further, but with GPU usage at 95%, it probably doesn’t matter. The high 4400 MHz in the cyberpunk screenshot likely reflects hardware performance rather than thermal concerns.

Absolutely, the thermal performance is solid. Expect around 75°C during a 30-minute test with R23. Your CPU clocks in at 4600MHz, which should be efficient.

I don’t understand the terms "PPT, TDC, EDC settings as well as your curve." They seem technical but I’m not sure what they mean. There’s a big temperature difference you noticed, and it looks like cooling is playing a role. Your Dark Rock Pro 4 uses liquid cooling, so it’s likely about keeping the cooler efficient rather than just the CPU temperature. Regarding performance at 75°C—does that indicate you’re still within safe limits? Even without seeing the 4800 GHz, it might be okay depending on your setup. This is your Cinebench test, though.

Note that Cyberpunk leverages multiple cores, so it won’t exceed the 4.7GHz limit. Around 4.5GHz is suitable for all-core boost on the 5800X. Your chip is operating near 90°C? With the Dark Rock Pro 4. Consider verifying your CPU cooler installation and also share the case or chassis you’re using along with your fan settings.

It's true that pushing the GPU to its limit can restrict the CPU's performance. The CPU doesn't require extra boost because there isn't sufficient workload to handle.
