At the start I'm sorry but I'm not a native English speaker, so there could be some mistakes. My issue is with the Ryzen 5 5600X. I'm not sure if the CPU is the problem, but it freezes after upgrading from an Intel CPU to a Ryzen with a new motherboard and RAM. Everything else seems fine. I experience random freezes after the computer stops working. Once it freezes, I have no choice but to restart it using a button. Whether I'm gaming or watching videos, nothing seems to work. I noticed some Ryzen freezing issues under light load but not in my case. I tried disabling XMP settings, but that didn't help. After switching to Ryzen, I installed Windows 11, then the freezes began. I thought it was a W11 issue, so I went back to Windows 10, but it wasn't the problem either. The Event Viewer doesn't show anything unusual. I assumed high temperatures were the cause, so I lowered the voltage and it improved. My BIOS has the latest chipset drivers, and I've updated everything. Sometimes the PC freezes multiple times in an hour, sometimes it works for a while. The freezes are completely random, and I don't know what's causing them. I turned off power-saving options in the BIOS and also disabled C-STATE control (which caused issues for others but not mine). It seems possible the PSU is aging and affecting performance. I bought this CPU in 2016/2017. Also, is a 550W PSU enough for the 5600X plus 1070? If not, should I upgrade it even if the PSU is still working? My specs are: CPU Ryzen 5 5600X, stock GPU GTX 1070, RAM Patriot Viper Steel 2x8GB, 3600MHz CL35, motherboard ASUS TUF Gaming B550+, PSU SPC Supremo M2 Gold 550W (bought in 2016/17), SSD/HDD MX500, Toshiba WD110. I'm not sure if that matters, but I also have a PCIe sound card (SoundBlaster Z System). Operating system: Windows 10, Windows 11 – problems occur on both.

Are you using the identical Windows installation from the previous version or have you performed a fresh reinstall?

At the start I just switched to Windows 11 and preserved all my files, then a few days later I did the same for Windows 10. I’m not too sure, but I’m pretty confident it was a fresh installation after the update.

Additionally, memtest also doesn't reveal any issues with RAM.

Have you erased the storage and performed a fresh setup of Windows? Or are you merely refreshing and switching back and forth between different versions?

Post update i cleared all drives and performed a fresh Windows install. By the way, I’m not sure if that’s important, but the only thing shown in Event Viewer is event 10001 DistributedCOM event 6008 and event 41 Kernel-Power. I suspect the last one might be due to power shutdown after the computer froze.
