Hi everyone, I’m facing a significant problem with my PC and the RX 9070 XT.
Here are the details:
GPU: Acer Radeon RX 9070 XT Predator BiFrost OC 16GB
CPU: Ryzen 7 9700X
Motherboard: MSI B650 Gaming Plus WiFi
Power Supply: Thermalright TG 750W 80+ Gold (fully modular, all cables connected in a chain)
RAM: Crucial Pro 32GB DDR5-6000
Driver: AMD Adrenalin 25.9.1

The problem is that my PC crashes unexpectedly during games such as FC 26, Rocket League, Cyberpunk, and even basic tasks like Chrome tabs. Sometimes the screen goes dark while the GPU indicator stays lit and the fans spin. There’s no display output until I perform a hard reboot. However, when playing Marvel Spiderman 2 it crashes completely, but I can still use Windows and occasionally see an amd tdr error. This issue has occurred with two different RX 9070 XT cards (the first Nitro OC and now the Predator BiFrost).

I’ve also attempted to flash the GPU firmware, but the Acer tool keeps failing with “Unable to flash VBIOS.” Drivers have helped for a few hours at most, but the crashes return. I’ve tried several troubleshooting steps: reinstalling drivers (both AMD and Acer), updating the motherboard BIOS, re-seating the GPU, swapping display cables/ports, checking voltages (12V rail drops to around 11.9V under load), disabling adaptive sync, adjusting refresh rates, etc.

My main suspicion is related to power issues—specifically, the PSU only supports daisy-chained PCIe cables.

This low quality PSU is unsuitable and should be avoided entirely. It contains several problems, such as an inaccurate efficiency rating. Therefore, consider a different PSU. For a PC with a dedicated GPU, a Tier A unit is ideal. Examples include Seasonic Focus/Vertex/PRIME, Corsair RMx/RMi/HXi/AXi, and Super Flower Leadex Gold/Platinum/Titanium.

PSU tier list: [link]
Tier A is acceptable, while Tier A+ is recommended.
My two PCs are powered exclusively by Tier A+ units. I own Seasonic PRIME 650 Titanium (Tier A+) and Seasonic PRIME Ultra 650 Titanium (Tier A+). See the attached specs/pics.

I'm considering purchasing a Montech Century II 850W, but the concern is whether it will resolve my issue. However, the issue is that I require a PSU with two EPS ports, which seems to be missing from what I see.

I'm not certain about the CPU, but my GPU temperatures stay near 60 degrees.

The official specifications indicate 2x +12V EPS cables are required.
For more details, you can check: https://www.montechpc.com/century-ii-850w
Currently, your power supply unit is the least reliable component in your setup. Replacing it without confirmation might not solve the problem, as the existing PSU is of low quality and could fail suddenly, potentially damaging other parts.
To assess temperatures, run HWinfo64 in sensors mode: https://www.hwinfo.com/download/

I required a fresh power source and that resolved the issues.
