I place my computer in a stable setup so outdated drivers aren’t the issue, and I’ll protect my side panel. I’m unsure why my old GPU games worked for a while before stopping, and I need to figure out why my PC keeps crashing with Windows saying it’s searching for a problem.
You're suggesting that the 1030 performed well initially but then suddenly stopped functioning properly. It could indicate a problem with your computer. Although the GT 1030 isn't ideal for gaming, random lag or crashes might point to a hardware or software issue. Consider updating the chipset drivers, searching for A320 drivers and downloading the newest ones from AMD's site (not Ryzen Master), as well as the latest RX 580 drivers. When installing video drivers, look for the Factory Reset option. DDU could be an alternative, but try the reset first to avoid unnecessary troubles.
For 200 dollars you can get the 1650 super, which offers performance on par with or better than the RX 580 and RX 5500 XT, plus reliable and efficient NVIDIA drivers. A few months back you were purchasing RX 580 models for that price, so it’s not as disappointing as it once was—it’s still a solid deal, especially compared to Intel.
After taking a break from my PC, I didn’t reinstall the graphics drivers. Could this be an issue?
You can look up videos on YouTube yourself. The RX 5500 XT performs similarly to the 1650S in most cases. Certain games that run better on Nvidia GPUs tend to offer higher FPS, while some neutral or AMD-optimized titles may lag about 2-3 FPS on the 1650S. In reality, even when considering percentages, the gap isn’t very noticeable. The difference becomes more apparent with RX 5500 XT models.
These games manage high graphics and reach or exceed 60fps, yet they remain very unstable and difficult to play even at the lowest settings.
