I bought a Rx 580 with 8GB of memory and it’s not functioning properly on my PC. It makes a lot of noise and overheats. When I start games like Warzone, a warning appears and Windows collects info before the PC restarts. I have a Ryzen 5 2600X and 8GB of 2400MHz DDR4 RAM, which isn’t ideal, but even games like Fortnite run poorly. Someone can help me fix this or suggest a better GPU option.
Refund it and get an Nvidia GPU. Buying an AMD gpu nowadays is like a gamble, even with the RX 4/500 series. Also the drivers are really bad, they update them to fix some issues, others come up. If you can't refund and you don't have a warranty on it, try cleaning it, search up your model and watch a tutorial or something on how to take it apart then do it yourself, clean the dirt, if there's any, and replace the thermal paste (not pads). Then make sure you have the latest drivers from AMD's website and that you have a correct BIOS, download GPU-Z and compare the clock speeds with the ones that it should have. If it doesn't, check if the GPU is a dual-BIOS one like the NITRO models from Sapphire they should have a switch on the PCB, if it is, try switching it with your PC turned off, then turn it on and see if it's fixed. From factory, these gpus have 2 profiles, a normal one and a performance one, with different clock speeds and fan curves. If it's not, then you have to research on how to flash a new BIOS on it online. Do that as a last resort, if anything else hasn't worked. There might also be an issue with something else in your computer, have you checked before buying the new gpu?
The rx 500 series consistently performed well without driver issues, offering better value compared to NVIDIA at similar prices. The 5700XT resembles the RTX 2070 Super but still has a few minor driver concerns.
They still manage to work, though they often run into problems. My Pro drivers have been reliable, but their Adrenalin versions keep causing issues. Spending more on an Nvidia GPU would be a good idea just for the drivers and game tweaks, but that’s another topic.
They don’t face any driver problems. The concerns were about the RX 5000 line, not the RX 500 series. Performance tweaks are moving to AMD’s side. This explains why the RX 580 resembles the 1660—AMD has optimized it heavily. When the RX 580 was underperforming compared to the GTX 1060, it’s now close to the GTX 1660.
The same problems appeared with the RX 5000 lineup as well, though not as widespread. I'm not even mentioning it—every update brings about half the fixes and around five more issues, like Freesync. Black screens are another common example. AMD drivers seem to perform poorly; just ask any user and you'll hear the same complaints. Pro drivers are my choice because they get updated roughly once a decade, and at least they don't have major issues (besides what I know), while their performance often surpasses Adrenalin in most situations.

Check out AMD forums or communities where you can address complaints directly. To be honest, the drivers are problematic—whether they're beta or not, issues like black screens, poor performance, and display bugs on stable builds are unacceptable. At least the refresh rate problems have been resolved over time.
i do not hate replies. im not saying that AMD drivers are any good. im just saying that there are no reason for OP to refund and get worse gpu because the problem OP is having doesnt have anything to do with drivers. OP what is your motherboard and psu? your psu can be garbage and your motherboard's VRMs might be opverheating. Also what case do you have?
