If anyone could assist with this situation would be incredibly helpful—it's really frustrating! I set up a fresh build and posted it successfully, but it crashed because the CPU overheated. The AIO (Ryujin 2 360mm) isn’t functioning properly now. I remember plugging the USB header into the AIO pump header at one point, and when I connected it to a USB 2.0 port on the Mobo, it worked—water flowed and the screen lit up. Later, when I connected the fans to the included controller unit, they started working, but the AIO didn’t. Now I’m trying to turn it off to connect the fans directly to the CPU header on the motherboard, and they did work this time. However, the fan controller box is still not responding—fans work when plugged into it but not with the Mobo. I’m worried the AIO might be dead (DOA). I hope it’s not that way. Also, the fans don’t work when connected to the box. Anyone with similar issues would be thankful. My build includes: ROG x570 Hero AMD 5900x, G.Skill Neo 32GB, 3200MHz, Samsung 980 Pro SSD, ROG 2070s, 800W PSU, Helios case, and ROG Ryujin 2 AIO.
Link your AIO pump to the "AIO_PUMP" port, not the "W_PUMP+" one. Attach your AIO fans to the "CPU_FAN" and "CPU_OPT" terminals. Review the guide on page 37 of the PDF (E15379_ROG_CROSSHAIR_VIII_HERO_UM_WEB.pdf) from asus.com.
Hi, I see you're dealing with a similar setup but with different wiring. Your Ryujin ii 360 AIO pump header is an 8-slot female USB type (4 wire). Connecting it to the motherboard where the pump has a male 4-pin header is tricky. You'll need to figure out the correct pinout and possibly use a conversion adapter or a different header type. Regarding the manufacturer's defect, it depends on the specific model and your warranty coverage. As for the side note, if you're using a method where the fan controller connects via USB for the display, that might be intentional, but double-check compatibility.
I never used an AIO in my life. I just read the manual. Your Ryujin ii 360 aio has a manual too: Q17946_ROG_RYUJIN_II_Series_QSG_WEB.pdf (asus.com) On page 16 you can see where to connect your cables. There seems to be an AIO fan controller, which will be connected to an internal (motherboard) USB connector. So connect your AIO pump's 4 pin PWM connector to your motherboard's AIO_PUMP connector. Connect the AIO pump's other connector (USB?) to the AIO fan controller. Connect your AIO fans to the AIO fan controller. Connect the AIO fan controller to the motherboard's USB connector. Connect the AIO fan controllers ARGB connector to your motherboard's ARGB header. Connect the other AIO fan controller connector. (I guess SATA power supply)
Thanks for your reply. I figured you were referring to the Fuzzy model based on your message to Fuzzy. I attempted these steps but the AIO still won't start—possibly a manufacturing issue.

3. Three fans attached to the hub
4. PSU SATA connected to the hub
Currently, I’m relying on an air cooler until I can process a return or replacement.

Hey there, I saw you're facing the same issue too. I'm sure you get it—trying to fix this was really frustrating. I wanted to find out if there was a solution and how it worked. I've been thinking about building my PC for ages, but this mess completely ruined my plans.
I've just got done building my ROG gaming rig and have the Ryujin II 360 installed. Installation was simple and it's my first gaming build. I'm sure you went over your steps multiple times but I'll tell you how I did mine. I have the USB 2.0 cable into my second USB 2.0 header. Then my micro USB cable hooked up to the asus controller. Sata power to the controller and a Argb cable from the argb header to the controller. Now what I didn't follow In the instructions was I just ran the pwm cable spliter direct from the AIO header to my fans and bypassed the controller. If your still having issues the only other thing I can thing of is your connection points on the LCD AIO cover are not making a connection or where the cables connect inside that cover are not plugged in all the way. Mine were loose and I just pushed them in tight.
I followed the same steps and connected the USB port to the AIO pump header on a Strix z690. Cooked the Ryujin Display/Controller, cleared out any residue. This was my first AIO installation, but the ASUS Ryujin 2 manual seems confusing. From what I understand, the fan headers and AIO headers don’t need adjustment, though a PWM connection works fine compared to the ASUS fan controller. I’ll keep updating. Placing an order for a replacement soon, aiming to have it by Friday. I’ll keep you posted. Intending to return the original Ryujin for repair before reselling it.
