I'm experiencing severe power throttling issues. The GPU frequency plummets from 1800MHz to 139MHz, then briefly recovers before dropping again. This pattern repeats multiple times. Charging stops temporarily and resumes, but the cycle continues. After applying CPU throttling with ThrottleStop, performance improved for a month before it began throttling once more. Current CPU runs at just 1.2GHz, while GPU stays under 70°C during gameplay. RAM remains stable at 16GB. Specifications: Dell G3 3579 i7 8750H, 1050Ti, 4GB RAM.
There might be a few issues: first, the power cable isn’t delivering consistent electricity to your laptop; second, your temperatures are likely adjusting to save energy; third, if the power cable connects through a splitter, it may not receive stable input from the wall. it seems typical now, though this only shows up on newer laptops rather than older models. I'm not entirely confident, but it might help to push the system under stress with both GPU and CPU tests—GTA can be quite demanding.
It slows down even when I'm not gaming. My laptop was new about nine months ago.
