Issue with resizing bar support on your 3070 from eBay. Need assistance resolving this problem.
I just switched from a Radeon 6700 XT to a Asus 3070 in my system due to unlimited driver issues with my Radeon card. I've been trying to set up resizable bar support, however everything I've tried isn't working and I want to know if I should return the card and get a different one. Below is a list of everything I've tried and I cant think of anything else. Built the PC myself about 2 years back. -Above 4G decoding set to Enable in bios, Re-sizable bar support set to Auto, and CSM disabled -reflash bios to F39 -used Asus resizable bar update tool (stated the card needed no update) -reseated the graphics card -updated all drivers (Chipset and graphics) -reinstalled windows to a different drive As you can see I've tried about everything I can think of and it still isn't enabled and I have no idea why. Want to know if I should return it before the window closes so please help ASAP and let me know if there's anything I haven't tried yet please and thank you. It seems like a BIOS issue might be the cause, possibly needing ReBAR to be toggled on and off. Generally, for 30 series cards, enabling or disabling ReBAR offers only a small performance boost—around 3% at most. If this doesn’t resolve the problem, it’s probably not worth further troubleshooting.
Gigabytes' BIOS is experiencing issues. Ensure CMOS is intact and reset the system upon initial setup.
Unless you focus on figures, the real difference in perceived performance is nearly none. (Certain titles didn't gain much from re-bar at all)
Consensus reached, ReBar didn't perform well on my 3080. Some games ran slower in tests, making it less of a concern if it doesn't work on a 3070.
You're still having trouble after changing the CMOS and BIOS settings. The switch was mainly due to performance in Asetto Corsa, especially when playing in VR. Since NVIDA cards tend to handle VR better with optimized drivers, a small 3% difference might actually make a big difference, especially given how demanding the game is in that mode. Decide if it's worth the effort or if you should keep it as is.
Usually, if it didn’t work, it’s likely you didn’t clear it correctly. Try again a few times, and if needed, remove the battery from the board. I’ve seen two gigabyte boards behave the same way.
I believe there might be a mistake. You mentioned using a screwdriver on the CLR_CMOS pins for about 10 seconds, but that’s not a standard procedure. After rebooting, your BIOS settings reset completely, and your XMP profiles disappeared. Would you like to try the process again or seek further guidance?
