I frequently required a PCIe expansion card to link my Oculus Quest to my PC through USB-C, but my Asrock B450 Steel Legend already had one integrated into the rear IO. Yet, my headset still fails to connect via this port. Sidequest doesn't detect any connected headsets, and the Oculus software indicates no connection. I tried using the identical cable into the USB-C port on my expansion card, and it functioned perfectly. Both Sidequest and Oculus acknowledged the connection instantly. Could there be a reason related to the expansion card being connected?

The expansion card could be designed to handle displayPort or Thunderbolt, or it might simply be a USB-C port with a standard USB 3.1 controller lacking advanced features.

It's a PCIe 4x expansion card featuring three USB 3.0 Type A ports and one USB 3.0 Type C port. It sits at the bottom of the expansion slot and requires a SATA power connector. The rear USB-C port remains functional, allowing me to charge and transfer files from my phone. However, the USB-C port doesn't respond well with my device, which is frustrating. I understand it's okay if this isn't the only option, but it wouldn't be ideal if it failed completely. I plan to test more devices on both ports this weekend and will update my post if issues persist.

The 3.1 gen 2 header on the steel legend appears to not show the signal, meaning it functions best with high bandwidth data transfer.
