Good afternoon
Firstly sorry for the long post
I am hoping you are able to help as I am at a loss at what is happening, only recently my laptop has developed a serious issue, every time I play any game, my PC will run the game but the FPS drops down, then after about 2 or 3 minuets the laptop freezes, I cannot press the CTRL+Alt+Del key I have to do hard restart.
I have updated all the drivers and have also uninstalled Synapse (4.0) as I read that this causes issues and yet it still continues to have this issue, it only happens when I play games. I have also tried to temporarily disable the Intel Graphics card to see if that works by forcing the use of the RTX3080 Ti, but this makes it worse.
I would appreciate any help as I am at a loss, it only happens when I want to play any game (I use STEAM) – it seems to happen to all games (i.e. Snipe elite 5, Tom Clancy the Division 2, even with Team Fortress 2). For all other normal uses I have no issues with the laptop...it is very odd as it only impacts on games.
I have included below Graphics card setting info (Window 11) and Event Viewer info which I am hoping will assist.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer! It might be useful to check if there are any pending BIOS updates for your laptop. Regarding your GPU drivers, could you explain how you've updated them? Are you using any undervolt settings for the GPU? I reviewed 107 pages of the PDF you shared and didn't find any information about your CPU or GPU temperatures. It would be helpful to keep track of that before the next restart.

Also, did you reinstall the operating system at any time?

The GPUs are up to date: the NVidia GPU was updated via the NVidia app (current version 581.80, dated 04/11/25), and the Intel GPU was updated with "Intel Graphics Software" version 32.0.101.7080 (dated 11.03.25).
I haven't adjusted the GPU voltages (as far as I know), so what's the best way to confirm this?
Also, I haven't reinstalled the operating system.

Regarding undervolting, you may apply it with MSI's Afterburner or Throttlestop; however, since this hasn't been done yet, monitor temperatures and provide updates. You might also need to reapply a higher-quality thermal paste.

What DDU would you suggest, and are you asking about booting in safe mode to eliminate the GPUs? I only have Nvidia and Intel GPUs.

Hey there,
Checking the most recent GPU driver that functioned. Try reverting it back a couple or three versions and observe the results. Make sure to use DDU each time.

Thank you for your response. I'll try to revert the Nvida GPU. It might just be a coincidence, but I started experiencing this problem after upgrading Razer Synapse to version 4. On another forum, someone suggested updating the Intel GPU and that there might be a conflict between the two. I updated the driver for the Intel GPU, but the issue persisted. After rolling back the GPU to its previous version, it still worked the same. I also removed Synapse again, as another forum mentioned it was a common cause for similar issues, but that didn't help.

It could be worth resetting the CMOS. Not every laptop offers this option. It can also be performed manually by removing the CMOS battery. Refer to your manual for specific instructions.
