Setting up my PC and reaching the initial testing phase, all components are powered on except a red post LED on the motherboard indicating a DRAM issue. The N5 Z690 manual states that such a light means the part isn’t working yet. I’ve tried several steps: installed one RAM stick per slot, used known good 8GB DDR4 from my previous build, re-seated CPU and cooler, ran with just one fan on the cooler, checked GPU output vs CPU output, removed the GPU, reseated all power connectors, tested with and without the extra 4-pin CPU cable, connected to monitor and TV using multiple HDMI and DisplayPort cables. I’ve also looked at the parts list here: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/8TzJsL. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The only thing that stands out is the difficulty finding the correct motherboard power cables.

It turns out the BIOS was outdated and didn’t recognize my CPU, despite repeated assurances it would be updated!
