Issue with PSU swap causing PC failure to power on
My old EVGA 850 BQ Bronze was always running at a high volume even when idle, and the fan was struggling to balance. I switched to a Corsair RM850e.
I put in the new PSU with its own modular cables (CPU, GPU, motherboard), but despite the motherboard lighting off when trying to start the PC, it would crank for a millisecond and then turn on the RAMs and power button before shutting down while keeping those lights on.
I’m not sure what I might have done wrong.
Help appreciated.
FIX: reinstalling all the PSU cables and re-routing some of the other small cables, plus swapping the SATA power cables (old PSU cables, never used the new ones from the box) seemed to fix it.

Please confirm that the correct modular cables were selected for each connection.
Thanks. I will double check that all the cables are the correct ones because it came with more than one CPU and GPU cables. By the way this is what it looks like:
