Hi! You're looking to stream media from your PC to your PS4 again after a recent PC setup change. It sounds like you tried using Windows' built-in sharing features, which worked well before. Your brother also used the same setup on his Mac. After reformatting your PC, you encountered issues with the workgroup not starting properly, and when it does, you experience buffering every few seconds. You're seeking advice on possible fixes or alternatives to Plex, as well as ways to restore the workgroup functionality.

Well, sir. I'm not really familiar with Plex or anything like that... I haven't actually tried it before. Have you thought about using Universal Media Server instead? You can find more details and a free download there.

The answer isn't to rely on Plex. It's clear that running it on a single device creates more issues in my router logs than a compromised system would with policy breaches.

I couldn't get UMS to function with my PS4, but I managed to use the old way. It's not the best, but it does work.
