Issue with performance in Rust!
Hi! After two years of checking it again, the issue still persists. I manage to get around 110 fps, but whenever I use any tool or hit something, it drops to 50-60 fps instantly and stays below 60 fps. My old PC was an i5 2400, and the GT 1030 ran the game smoothly with 60-80 fps without constant drops. The new setup has a Ryzen 5 3600, an RX 580 with 8GB RAM at 3200 MHz, and the game is running on an SSD. I tested both low and high settings, but the performance didn’t improve.
Check the temperature to see if it's overheating. Avoid overclocking the GPU, update the driver, or reinstall the game.
Some decision?
Identify the brand and model of the PSU?
Monitor CPU/GPU temperatures and usage while playing?
Check RAM and SSD usage?
Tried native and many others with similar specs. PSU is a cooler master 550W bronze. CPU stays between 55-70°C, rarely hits 70 with spikes sometimes. GPU runs at around 70°C with one fan after several hours. The other unit keeps failing, so I need to replace the fans. RAM is 13-14 GB from the 16, and Windows uses 4 from that 13-14. SSD usage is minimal, about 5-10%.
