Hello,
I've encountered an issue with my PC recently. It seems related to a fan—probably the GPU fan—which produces unusual or loud noises during startup, almost like scratching sounds. Interestingly, these noises vanish as soon as I restart the computer. This seems to be the only solution that works. Another observation is that when I open Fan Control, my GPU fans aren't recognized and are labeled with a question mark. HWMonitor also shows 0 RPM for them. The problem appears only after a long period of inactivity, so it happens only on the first startup of the day or during short usage intervals. During normal short sessions, there are no such issues.

Here are my details:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900x
CPU cooler: SilentiumPC Fortis 5 ARGB
Motherboard: B450M PRO-VDH MAX
RAM: 4x 8GB G.Skill Aegis DDR4-3000
Storage: Multiple SSDs and one HDD
GPU: ASUS TUF Gaming OC RTX 3090
Power supply: 750 Watt NZXT C Series C750 (1 year old)
Chassis: Sharkoon S1000
Operating system: Windows 11
Monitor: AOC Monitor

I hope someone can provide guidance. Thank you very much.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer! Please verify your current BIOS version. If you have pending updates, try installing the latest one. Regarding your GPU, consider obtaining a stable PSU from a friend or neighbor with at least 850W of power capacity for the entire system, and see if the problem continues.

Thank you for the response. I changed my motherboard to the latest version, but it didn’t fix the issue. I was mistaken in thinking the GPU was the cause; I looked into the problem and it looks like the CPU or case fans are responsible. I don’t think the power supply is the problem because the noise wasn’t coming from it and it’s still new.
