I recently encountered my PC freezing on the motherboard splash screen. After a loading indicator appears, it continues to run without stopping. Occasionally, after several reboots, it completes, but sometimes it fails entirely and I’m left guessing what to try next. For instance:
- I disconnected all USB devices and it worked.
- I reset the CMOS battery and restored factory settings on the motherboard.
- Performed a disk check to rule out drive issues (all tests passed).
- Placed the Windows installation drive in another slot.
- Installed Windows on a different drive (the new drive didn’t appear in boot options after the splash screen; I can now choose which drives to boot from).

None of these steps resolved the issue. Could you try additional troubleshooting steps? Or do you have any experience with this problem?

I might consider refreshing the BIOS, yet it seems odd that such an issue arises when the system worked perfectly before.

I recently discovered a warning about a hard drive reallocated sector count issue. A disk check performed by HWinfo 64 identified this, but it doesn't seem to be related to the Windows version of the drive. Is there still a possibility it's connected to the problem?

It looks like the issue was with the Drive. Unplugging it resolved the problem, and everything functioned properly afterward.
