My office PC occasionally fails to display a signal during startup. It may require five attempts before it functions properly.
I've tried several troubleshooting steps:
- Disconnected the GPU and connected directly to the motherboard
- Updated the BIOS
- Reinstalled GPU drivers (while still trying to connect via GPU)
- Swapped RAM stick into different slots
- Tested with another hard drive for booting
After a successful boot, the system operates normally, though it has been reported to reboot unexpectedly.
I don’t have a backup motherboard or power supply, so I can’t perform further tests.
I’m at a loss about the problem, but given the age of the machine—around 10 to 12 years—it might be wise to replace it rather than risk further issues.

This isn't about blaming the PSU, but noting an observation. You might want to borrow another unit to verify this idea. If the problem stems from a borrowed PSU, consider purchasing a cheaper replacement for your system and returning the borrowed one.
By the way, does removing all storage drives help with the issue?
Yes, the display remains black with no signal detected. The hardware functions normally—fans operate, HDD makes noise, and the motherboard's power LED is active. Occasionally, random errors appeared, such as "(A7) Me FW Downgrade - Request MeSpiLock Failed" and "Error sending End Of Post message to ME, System HALT!"—these occurred prior to resetting and replacing the CMOS battery, as well as after a BIOS update. Additionally, during startup, the system requested a BIOS password that I was unaware of, which also happened before the BIOS upgrade.
