Issue with PC Games installation or Unarc.dll problem
Hi Guys,
I require expert advice to resolve a troubleshooting problem. Over the past few days, I've been unable to install any games on my PC. Whenever I attempt installation, it freezes while the rest of the system operates normally. I also observed that CPU usage drops to idle during this process, even though the game installation remains stuck or freezes. Another issue is encountering an error message stating "Unarc.dll is missing" during small game installations.
I have tried a fresh Windows installation using three different Windows 10 ISO files and updated all drivers, including C++, DX10, and 11. I also changed the installation destination folder and HDD settings, but the problem persists. I haven't made any hardware modifications recently.
My PC has specifications of (11700 + Z590 + 16GB RAM & 3080 GPU).
Games work fine on another PC.
What games, I suppose
I’ve had to revisit the 2010 C++ versions to make older titles run. If you start with a 64-bit setup first, the 32-bit ones work better.
Fixing “Unarc.” The installer returned an error code.
Right-click the installer and choose Properties.
Navigate to the Compatibility section.
Check the box to run the program in compatibility mode for an older Windows version.
Click Apply and OK.
