I recently swapped out the motherboard, CPU, and RAM during an upgrade, yet I’m facing random problems without any clear cause. Occasionally the system starts perfectly fine—no freezes, no BSOD, nothing. But then it randomly crashes (images included). It freezes during boot, the BIOS becomes unresponsive, and the PC displays an A9 error on the board. There’s also a distinct sound: a long beep followed by three short beeps (though I’m not sure if that’s the GPU fans or something else). Since I replaced the memory, it seems unrelated to that part. However, the issue persists across both systems, so memory can’t be the culprit. With integrated graphics installed, could the dedicated GPU still trigger a freeze? I’ve noticed some NVDLM errors in games, which might point to a GPU problem. I’m confident the hardware is up-to-date—latest BIOS and drivers are installed. If anyone has insights, it would be greatly appreciated. My specs include Windows 11, Ryzen 7 7900X, ROG STRIX X670E, gaming setup, and a Zotac 3080 Trinity with 10GB LPDDR5, 850W PSU, two 2TB NVMe SSDs (Samsung and Sabrent), and a Kraken X73 AIO cooler. The date is February 2024.

It seems your GPU might not be working properly. Make sure you reinsert it and verify the connections at both ends of the power cords.

The AMI Bios codes indicate a video memory issue. Are you connected to a riser? Did you adjust the PCI-E generation in the main motherboard port?

It seems like you're confirming your expectations. I've already returned the GPU twice, so I'm hoping this won't happen again. I'll try it out right away.

You've removed the GPU and are facing issues with posting to integrated. The CMOS was cleared but didn’t resolve the problem. It might be related to memory training settings or a stuck bootloader version 14. Check the motherboard’s memory training configuration and ensure it matches your system requirements.

For updates, simply re-flashed the bios and it’s now live. It seems I also faced bios problems at the same time. Unclear if this affects other issues too.

After a lengthy technical support conversation with Asus, we determined the problem was a defective motherboard. That’s the conclusion—lol. Thanks for the assistance and suggestions!

I'm truly sorry for what occurred. I hate mobile swaps. I hope this fixes your problem permanently.
