Issue with PC failing to wake from sleep, requiring manual power restart.
Hi everyone,
The system isn’t waking up after putting it to sleep mode. Usually a mouse click or keyboard press should bring it back online, but for me it only powers on when I press the power button and everything resets to its previous state.
Tried fixes: left Windows fast boot unchecked, checked Device Manager for Mouse and Keyboard power-up status, looked at commands for hibernate settings, but didn’t make any changes. Nothing has resolved the issue yet.
I suspect there might be a compatibility problem with Windows 10 and my motherboard. All drivers are up to date.
Details:
i5 12400
MSI B760M Bomber WiFi Motherboard, LGA 1700 - DDR5
Corsair DDR5 32GB RAM (one stick)
Samsung 980 PRO 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2
Cooler Master 550w 80+ bronze
Operating System: Windows 10 Pro (updated)
All parts are new except for this one, which is functioning normally.
Thank you for your help.
I have some concerns about compatibility with Windows 10 and my MB. I think there might be an issue with the OS drive being recycled. If this is true, you'll need to reinstall the OS in offline mode after creating a bootable USB installer. What is the BIOS version for your motherboard?
Hi, thank you for your message.
BIOS Version: A.50, 07-09-2023.
I think I might have made an error during installation. The system assembly was handled by a skilled technician, and even his Windows 10 home version had the same problem. That’s why I chose to install the Win 10 Pro version instead, but I still encountered the same issue.
I’m not very experienced with computer settings, just basic things. I’ll ask the technician about using a "recycled OS drive."
Thanks again.
It might be useful to refresh your bios, since three of them are outdated.
