I was operating my PC normally until it suddenly lost power. I tried to restart it, but it wouldn’t boot and showed these issues:
-Fan increased speed then stopped repeatedly without power
-Intense flash of CPU LED on the motherboard alongside the fan
-Case power button didn’t respond
What I attempted to fix:
-Re-slot RAM
-Re-slot SSDs
-Disconnect all USB devices
-Play with a paperclip to test the PSU
-Look for any blown capacitors
-Remove GPU (after using it with a PCIE cable extension), the PC started working, but after 2 hours it failed again. I suspect the PCIE cable was faulty and I removed it, which restored functionality for about 5 minutes.
My PC is now stuck in a cycle of frequent power loss, and I’m running out of ideas about what’s wrong.
Please assist.
Hardware details:
I7-12700F
RTX 3060 COLORFUL 12GB
GIGABYTE P650B - 650W - 80 Plus Bronze
Samsung 980 NVMe 1TB
16GB Corsair Vengance DDR4
Mainboard ASUS TUF GAMING B660M-PLUS D4

The issue hasn't stopped after replacing the PSU, so it's possible your CPU or motherboard might be faulty.

It seems your PSU isn't the issue, but there might still be a power-related problem. I recommend checking the voltages using a digital voltmeter. It could be another device connected to the PSU that's causing the issue. If that's the case, replacing the PSU won't fix it.

Checked without using the CPU and noticed the fans continue to spin. Experienced a similar problem recently, with boot looping. There was also a partial short on the board.

I identified the issue. It wasn’t the PSU but the motherboard. When I pressed against the second PCIe slot (just below the 16x), the computer started up and shut off quickly once I released my pressure. Do you have any chance to fix it, or does the motherboard need replacement?
