Issue with PC blocking Steam/Battle.net/Epic Games Launcher launches.
Hi everyone, I recently assembled my PC a few months ago with the help of a knowledgeable friend. It’s still a bit confusing for me. He’s currently in another part of the country, and my PC has encountered a major issue.
When we first built it, I could play games without any problems. I spent about a month or two in Europe, storing my PC at a friend’s place. After returning to my apartment, I tried launching games again, but they wouldn’t start properly. Steam (and other gaming clients) would become unresponsive on startup, and even closing the task manager would freeze it, along with other apps.
I’ve checked all my files, updated drivers, refreshed Windows, reinstalled Steam, and restarted the computer multiple times without fixing the problem. I’m really unsure what’s going on or how to fix it.
As I start exploring system files and processes more, I’m growing more anxious because of my limited experience with computers.
Anyone have suggestions or advice on what might be wrong?
It could be a simple question, but is the PC still in the same time zone as when it was built? If yes, is the time on Windows accurate? The servers from Steam and Epic may behave oddly if the time doesn't align with where they detect your PC's internet connection originates, even though your PC's settings reflect its original time zone.
My computer shares the same time zone, and it appears that Windows is showing the correct time.
